Box Score GRINNELL, Iowa – The Grinnell College men's basketball team got its season off to a strong start, rolling past Silver Lake College 125-90 Saturday afternoon at Darby Gymnasium.
 
The Pioneers got 31 points from both Kyle Parker and Julian Marx, while Matt Jasaitis put in 16, Ky-Sean Johnson had 11 and Braedon Bayer and Danny Thomas 10 apiece.
 
Marx, who was 7-of-13 from 3-point land, also had four assists. Jasaitis came up with four steals and Parker three. Thomas led the team in rebounds with five.
 
The game was a 46-all tie before Thomas hit a layup, Jasaitis drained a 3-pointer and added two free throws as the Pioneers rolled to a 61-53 halftime lead. They controlled the contest the rest of the way.
 
Grinnell entertains Crossroads College Sunday at 3 p.m. in Darby Gymnasium.
