GRINNELL, Iowa – A balanced scoring attack sent the Grinnell College men's basketball team to a 105-90 victory over Colorado College Sunday afternoon at Darby Gymnasium.
Kyle Parker scored 19 points on 4-of-7 shooting from 3-point land, while
Julian Marx had 16 points,
Vinny Curta 14,
Ky-Sean Johnson 11 and
Braedon Bayer 10.
Nick Curta nearly had a double-double, grabbing 10 rebounds while scoring nine points. Parker had four assists, Bayer six steals,
Nick Curta two blocked shots and
Vinny Curta and
Matt Jasaitis three steals each as the Pioneers recorded 16 steals as a team.
Colorado College led 56-54 in the second half before Grinnell went on a key nine-point run. Parker hit a 3-pointer,
Vinny Curta had a layup and free throw and Marx drained a 3-pointer to make it a 63-56 Grinnell lead with 13:40 remaining.
The Tigers never got closer than five points the rest of the way.
Grinnell, 3-1, plays at Simpson College on Tuesday night.
