GRINNELL, Iowa – Grinnell College's football team lost its home finale Saturday afternoon, falling 54-10 to Lake Forest College at Rosenbloom Field.
The Pioneers trailed just 7-3 after
Graham Fisher booted a 20-yarrd field goal with 3:12 left in the first period.
But the Foresters reeled off 47 unanswered points before Grinnell finished off the scoring with a 4-yard TD pass from
Sam Poulos to
Emmi Sandoval with 12 seconds left. Fisher kicked the extra point.
Poulos completed 24-of-41 passes for 193 yards, while
Henry Cummings caught nine passes for 68 yards and Sandoval five catches for 55 yards.
Defensively,
Barrett Morrissette and
Ryan Slager each had 10 tackles.
Grinnell is now 1-8 overall and 0-5 in the Midwest Conference South Division. Lake Forest moved to 4-5 overall and 3-2 in the division.
