GRINNELL, Iowa – Grinnell College's men's basketball team lost a 104-91 decision to St. Norbert College Saturday afternoon at Darby Gymnasium.
Julian Marx '17 had 18 points for Grinnell on 6-of-13 shooting from 3-point land, while
Vinny Curta '19 had 14 points.
Braedon Bayer '18 dished out four assists and
Matt Jasaitis '18, Marx, Curta and
Nathan Balcom '18 came up with two steals each.
Nick Curta '17 grabbed five rebounds.
Grinnell is now 1-2 in the Midwest Conference and 4-4 overall, while St. Norbert –which extended its winning streak against league teams to 47 games – moved to 3-0 in the MWC and 4-1 overall.
It was close for the first part of the initial half, with Grinnell closing the gap to 19-18 on
Vinny Curta's free throws with 12:29 left. However, St. Nobert answered with a 25-point run to pull away for a 54-36 halftime lead.
Grinnell never got closer than 13 the rest of the way.
The Pioneers play at Monmouth College on Tuesday. Game time is 5:30 p.m.
