GRINNELL, Iowa – Grinnell College sailed to a pair of men's tennis victories Sunday, shutting out Illinois College 9-0 and beating Augustana College 8-1.
 
Grinnell swept singles play against Augustana with Elliott Czarnecki '15 (6-5, 5-7, 10-5), Cole Miller '17 (2-6, 6-2, 10-5), Emilio Gomez '15 (6-1, 6-0), Aaron Lapkin '15 (7-5, 6-1), Tracy Johnson '16 (6-2, 6-1) and Charlie Wilhelm '15 (6-1, 6-1).
 
In doubles, Johnson and Gomez won 8-5 and C.J. Ray '16 teamed with Miller to win 9-7.
 
In the win over Illinois College, Grinnell had singles winners by 6-0, 6-0 scores with Will Hamilton '17, John Gernon '15, Ameer Shujjah '16, Jim Geary '18 and Peter Sills '18.
 
Caleb Kumar '16 won 6-1, 6-0 at the top spot.
 
The doubles teams of Hamilton-Geary and Shujjah-Gernon won 8-0, while Kumar and Sills won 8-1.
 
Grinnell is now 23-10 on the season.
