JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – The good times continued for the Grinnell College women's basketball team with a 71-51 blowout win at Illinois College on Tuesday night.
The Pioneers, who won for the sixth time in their last seven outings, improved to 8-4 in league play and 11-6 overall. Illinois College dipped to 6-6 in the MWC and 9-8 in all games.
Alissa Hirsh '16 scored 16 points for the Pioneers, while
Kayla Morrissey '18 and
Leah Greenberg '17 had 12 each.
Sophia Gatton '17 had 10 points and
Alex Neckopulos '17 grabbed 10 rebounds.
Hirsh dished out nine assists and Morrissey had four steals.
The game was never in question, as Grinnell broke out to a 17-7 first-period lead and was ahead 41-18 at halftime.
