Adam Dalton raced to his second victory in as many days to earn one of the Track Performer of the Year honors at the Midwest Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships Saturday.
Dalton won the 3000-meter run in 8:48.78 to beat his nearest competitor by almost 6 seconds.
John Lennon was third in the race in 8:56.26 and
Anthony McLean was seventh in 9:01.75 as Grinnell was fifth in the team standings with 57 points.
Grinnell also won the distance medley relay Saturday in 10:33.36, the third-fastest time in program history. That squad included
Joel Baumann,
Colton Silvia,
Kevin Anderson and
Nate Kolacia.
Kolacia was also seventh in the 800 in 2:01.58, the same placing by the 4x400 relay team of
Andrew Shults,
Jonathan Braun,
Ed Hardman and Silvia. They ran a time of 3:31.52.
