Kolacia's big performance lifts Grinnell at Kip Janvrin Invite

INDIANOLA, Iowa – Nate Kolacia led the way for the Grinnell College men's track team with a stellar performance in the 800-meter run at the Kip Janvrin Invitational, which was contested Thursday and Friday.
 
Kolacia nearly broke his own school record in the 800-meter run when he placed third in 1:53.31. That was just one-hundredth of a second off his mark set last year.
 
The 4x100 relay team of Ed Hardman, Jonathan Braun, Colton Silvia and Kolacia was seventh in 3:28.30, while Adam Dalton took eighth in the 5000 in 15:01.42. Dalton's time ranks seventh in program history.
 
Also in the 5000, Anthony McLean was 16th in 15:26.17.
 
Hardman placed 14th in the 200 in 23.00and 20th in the 100 in 11.55. Alex Mundell and Aidan Healy were 16th and 17th in the 3000 steeplechase with times of 11:01.10 and 11:16.21, respectively.
 
Ibuki Ogasawara took 17th in the triple jump (37-6) and 18th in the pole vault (12-3 ½).
