ORLANDO, Fla. – After opening its spring break trip with three losses, the Grinnell College men's tennis team stormed back with authority Thursday with a pair of exciting wins.

The Pioneers defeated Calvin College 6-3, with
Raghu Inturi '20 providing the clinching victory with a 6-3, 4-6, 13-11 marathon decision at No. 6 singles. They then edged Hamilton College 5-4 to complete the day.

Cole Miller '17 and
Tommy Pitcher '17 were a perfect 4-for-4 on the day. Miller won No. 1 singles matches by scores of 6-3, 6-1 against Calvin and 7-5, 7-6 against Hamilton. Pitcher posted wins at No. 3 singles by scores of 6-1, 6-1 and 7-5, 6-2, respectively.

As a No. 1 doubles team, Miller and Pitcher won 8-6 in both matches.

Besides Inturi's win, Grinnell's other singles victory against Calvin was a 6-3, 4-6, 10-3 decision by
Ben Cobin '20 at No. 5.
Sam Stickels '19 and
Zach Lane '19 added a 9-7 victory at No. 2 doubles.

Will Hamilton '17 provided two wins against Hamilton, rallying for a 3-6, 6-1, 10-3 decision at No. 5 singles and teaming up with Cobin to win 8-3 at No. 3 doubles.

The Pioneers close out their spring break trip Friday against Hope College.
