ORLANDO, Fla. – Grinnell College's men's tennis team completed its spring break trip on a dominating note Friday, blowing by Hope College 7-2.

The win was the third in a row for the Central Region's 14th-ranked team and improved the Pioneers' mark to 8-8. Hope fell to 3-8.

Cole Miller '17 and
Tommy Pitcher '17 wrapped up stellar weeks by posting two wins each. Miller won 6-2, 6-1 at No. 1 singles, Pitcher posted a 7-5, 7-6 decision at No. 3 and the two combined for a 9-8 win at No. 1 doubles.

Zach Lane '19 was also a double winner, earning a 6-1, 6-2 decision at No. 4 singles and teaming with
Sam Stickels '19 to win 8-5 at No. 2 doubles.

Will Hamilton '17 emerged victorious in a marathon battle at No. 5 singles, winning 6-0, 2-6, 16-14 and
Ben Cobin '20 won 6-1, 6-4 at No. 6 singles.

Pitcher finished a perfect 5-0 in singles play on the trip to Florida, Cobin was 4-1 and Miller 4-2 while Miller and Pitcher were 3-2 in doubles.

Additionally, Miller moved into the No. 8 spot all-time at Grinnell with 77 career doubles wins.

The Pioneers jump back into Midwest Conference play April 1 with home matches against Lawrence University and St. Norbert College.
