Kouchi finished in a second-place tie in the individual standings with a two-day score of 156. Earlier this season, she set Grinnell's school record for low 18-hole round with a 69 at the Illinois Wesleyan Fall Classic. Entering the MWC Tournament, Kouchi had a tourney win (Illinois Wesleyan meet) and finished in the top five at two other meets while compiling a stroke average of 74.3.
Arseneault, who took over the program from his father this fall, guided the Pioneers to new heights. They started the season with a school-record 18-hole score of 301 at the Luther Sail Classic and ended up winning that tourney and two other meets – the MWC event as well as the NCAA Division III National Preview, which featured several of the nation's top-ranked teams.
