CONWAY, Ark. - Grinnell College's baseball team kicked off its spring break trip on a strong note Saturday, playing a team that is receiving votes in the national rankings to a 3-2 decision.

Brock Weirather '21,
Ryan Chang '21 and
Thompson Rick '21 combined to hold Hendrix College to just three runs on 10 hits, while
Riley Guieb '21 sparked the offense with three hits with
Jack Hager '20 adding two.
Grinnell, 2-3 on the year, got out to a quick lead in the first inning when
Matthew Inaba '22 singled to center, took second on Guieb's single through right side, moved to third on
Quinton McNitt's '21 infield single and came home on a single through the left side by
Julian Cabrera '19.

Hendrix, 15-4 on the season, tied it in the sixth before the Pioneers went up in the seventh as
Jared Booth '21 singled to left, stole second and came across on Hager's single through the right side.
However, the hosts got two runs in the eighth and hung on for the win. On the mound, Weirather worked 6-? innings and fanned three batters. Chang, the pitcher of record, and Rick each struck out one.

The same two teams are at it again Sunday in a doubleheader.
