GRINNELL, Iowa – Lawrence University's men's soccer team walked onto Springer Field Saturday with an unblemished record in Midwest Conference play.
However, the Vikings didn't exit that way.

Jasper Yang '22 to pull out a 1-0 victory on Senior Day in a key league game.
On the play,
Dylan Maddux '25 fed Yang the ball at the top left side of the box. Yang delivered a perfect shot to the far post, past the diving Lawrence keeper for the score.
Carter Benson '24 posted his second shutout of the season at keeper for Grinnell, recording four saves.
Yang had four shots for Grinnell,
Davis Provost '23 added three, Maddux had two and one each came from
Noah Guyton '23,
Oliver Northing '25,
Ray Goedeker '22 and
Caleb Hoereth '24.
Grinnell managed 13 shots in the game compared to seven by Lawrence (7-7, 4-1 MWC).
Yang now had 17 goals and 36 points on the season, good for fourth and fifth all-time at Grinnell, respectively. Benson has seven wins this season, sixth-best at Grinnell.
As a team, Grinnell's assists total of 27 is fourth-best in program history and the 89 goals are tied for 10
th.
The Pioneers have another tough test Sunday when 17
th-ranked St. Olaf College visits Springer Field. Action begins at 1:30 p.m.
