ST. PETER, Minn. – Two Grinnell College entries advanced to the Sweet 16 on Saturday before losing matches at the ITA Men's Tennis Fall Regionals hosted by Gustavus Adolphus College.
Bowen Mince '22, a 17th seed, defeated the 13th seed from the host school 6-3, 1-6, 10-8 before losing in the round of 16 to the fifth seed from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater 2-6, 6-2, 10-7.
Karch Knoll '25 opened Saturday's action with a 6-3, 2-6, 10-6 victory over the ninth seed from UW-Eau Claire but then lost 4-6, 6-3, 10-3 to the eighth seed from Gustavus Adolphus.
Leo Esztergomi '24, a 17th seed like Mince, lost 6-4, 6-1 to the third seed from Gustavus Adolphus in the round of 32.
In doubles, Knoll and
Sam Rudenberg '25 reached the round of 32 before losing.
