2nd-half goals send preseason MWC favorite Knox to 2-0 win over Grinnell

GALESBURG, Ill. - Through one half of action, the Grinnell College men's soccer team played Midwest Conference preseason favorite Knox College to a scoreless draw.

However, the Prairie Fire scored four minutes into the second half and added an insurance goal in the 62nd minute to secure a 2-0 victory Wednesday afternoon.

While Knox (4-4, 1-0 MWC) won the shots battle 16-9, the hosts held just a 7-5 edge in shots on goal. Henry Cladouhos '22 had three shots by Grinnell, including one on goal, while Jasper Yang '22 and Noah Guyton '23 each had two shots with both being on goal.

Ray Goedeker '22 and Dylan Maddux '25 added the other shots for Grinnell (4-5, 1-1 MWC).
