RIPON, Wis. – Unbeaten Ripon College jumped out to a 21-0 lead by the end of the first period in a 56-6 win over Grinnell College in Midwest Conference football action Saturday afternoon.
Grinnell got its touchdown with 14:13 left in the fourth period when
Grayson Woodhouse '24 connected on a 26-yard scoring strike to
Garrett Wilson '25. The drive began late in the third quarter when a short punt by Ripon gave the Pioneers great field position. In just five plays, the Pioneers found the end zone.
Wilson caught two passes for 37 yards and
Nick Rhinehart '25 added four snags for 34 yards. Woodhouse was the team's leading rusher with 39 yards and threw for 76.
On the defensive side of the ball,
Adam Khater '23 had six tackles,
Jio Hong '25 added four and
Hugh Werner '25 came up with three. Werner also had a fumble recovery and Kevin Johnson a forced fumble.
Ripon is 4-0 in the MWC and 5-0 in all action, while Grinnell dipped to 2-2 both in the league and overall. The Pioneers play Knox College next Saturday in Galesburg, Ill.
