GC men's tennis team rolls over Hope in spring break opener

ORLANDO, Fla. - Grinnell College's men's tennis team kicked off its spring break trip by making quick work of Hope College Monday.

The Pioneers swept singles play as they rolled to an 8-1 victory at the USTA Tennis Center. Double winners on the day were Bowen Mince '22, Sam Rudenberg '25 and Henry Bridgers '24.

Mince won 6-3, 6-0 at the top singles spot and teamed with Rudenberg for an 8-6 victory at No. 1 doubles. Rudenberg won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 5 singles, while Bridgers won 6-3, 6-2 at No. 6 while teaming with Jonah Gilmore '24 for an 8-1 victory at No. 2 doubles.

Rounding out Grinnell's wins at the Nos. 2 through 4 singles spots were Leo Esztergomi '24 (7-5, 6-1), Paul Elghouayel '24 (6-3, 6-1) and Karch Knoll '25 (6-1, 6-1).

The Pioneers face Hamilton College on Tuesday.
