LAKE FOREST, Ill. – Grinnell College's football team dug itself in an early hole and couldn't quite get out in a 47-0 setback at unbeaten Lake Forest College Saturday.
The Pioneers (2-4, 2-3 Midwest Conference) were down 27-0 after one period and 40-0 at halftime before limiting the Foresters (6-0, 5-0 MWC) to just seven points in the second half.
Henry Baird '25 completed 7-of-16 passes for the Pioneers for 25 yards, with
Garrett Wilson '25 catching one pass for 17 yards and
Chris Reiter '27 nabbing two passes for 10 yards.
Ajay Griffin '27 had seven tackles for Grinnell, while
Tim Johnson '24 and
Luke Walters '26 each had six stops.
Hugh Werner '25 tallied an interception and fumble recovery,
Kevin Johanson '26 added a pickoff and Walters forced a fumble.
Grinnell returns to the friendly confines of Rosenbloom Field next Saturday to face Knox College.
