DES MOINES, Iowa – Grinnell College's women's distance medley relay team took advantage of competing in front of a large crowd on the legendary blue oval Saturday morning by setting a new school record at the Drake Relays.
 
Hannah Roark '26, Sonia Edassery '24, Crystal Kaczmarczyk '25 and Keely Miyamoto '26 flew through the race in 12 minutes, 53.24 seconds to break the previous school mark of 12:54.14 established in 1997. Grinnell finished ninth in the rugged field.
 
Roark opened the race by running the 1200-meter portion in 3:57.43, Edassery followed with a 1:00.17 in the 400, Kaczmarczyk went 2:30.85 in the 1200 and Miyamoto finished things off with a 5:24.80 in the 1600.
