2023 MWC Baseball Tourney Site
BELOIT, Wis. – Grinnell College's baseball team will take aim at the Midwest Conference Tournament for the first time since 2018 when the Pioneers meet Beloit College on the latter's field at 10 a.m. Friday.

Grinnell is the fourth seed for the tourney, owning a league record of 14-10 while going 18-19 overall. Top-seeded Beloit was the MWC regular-season champ with a 20-4 mark. The Buccaneers are 28-11 in all games.

Beloit swept the three-game season series between the teams back in March.

Grinnell was the third-best hitting team in the MWC this season with a .314 average. Slugger
Luke Porter '23 has led the way, topping the MWC in slugging percentage (.960), doubles (14) and home runs (13). He is second in RBIs with 36 and OPS (1.437).

Mac McCain '25 is hitting .370 in league play and
Cole Philpott '25 is at .338. Philpott ranks second in the MWC in walks with 24 and third in on-base percentage at .545, while McCain is third in doubles with 10.

Jake Hull '24 ranks third in the MWC in earned run average at 2.70 while
Ian Feld '25 is fourth in saves with three.

Beloit leads the league in both hitting (.351) and pitching (4.21 ERA). The team's top hitters are Matt O'Leary (.412) and Deven Irwin (.409). On the mound, Eamon Burke has a 3.44 ERA and Harvey Pena is at 3.94.

In the other semifinal, the University of Chicago faces Ripon College. The double-elimination tourney continues through Saturday, with the winner advancing to the NCAA Division III National Tournament.
