GRINNELL, Iowa - Grinnell College's women's track and field squad puts its depth on full display at the Midwest Conference Championships Saturday, placing in nearly every event on its way to a strong fourth-place finish.

Leading the charge was Keely Miyamoto '26, who won the 5000-meter run at the Darren Young '93 Track and Field Complex one day after collapsing at the end of the 10,000 and being tended to by trainers. Miyamoto cruised to victory Saturday in 18 minutes, 19.73 seconds.

Grinnell was also boosted by two school records, those coming from Eva Carchidi '24 in the 200 and the 4x100 relay team of Sonia Edassery '24, Ava Taylor '25, Maile Crowe '25 and Carchidi.

Carchidi, who broke the school record in the 100 prelims on Friday, posted a time of 25.66 in the 200 to beat the school mark of 25.72 held by two runners. Carchidi was fourth in the event and Edassery placed fifth in 26.19.

The 4x100 squad broke its own school record of 49.50 with a time of 49.21, good for third place.

The Pioneers accumulated 113 points at the meet, finishing just eight behind Monmouth College. Ripon College won the title with 180.

In the steeplechase, Crystal Kaczmarczyk '25 was fourth in 12:22.25, a personal best that remains eighth in program history. Emma Schaefer '23 just missed the program's top 10 list, running 12:32.35 to place sixth. Diana Barba '26 was eighth in 12:47.80.
