Top 2 scoring offenses square off Saturday as Grinnell men entertain Greenville

Pioneer women look to go 6-2 for 1st time in 21 years when they host Crown

GRINNELL, Iowa - Anyone looking to complement Thanksgiving weekend with some thrilling basketball need only come to Darby Gymnasium Saturday afternoon.

Both the Grinnell College men's and women's teams have plenty to play for as they host non-conference foes.

Grinnell's men meet Greenville University at noon in a battle of the top two scoring offenses in NCAA Division III. Grinnell leads all levels of NCAA with a 124-point per game average, while Greenville - second in D-III and third overall – averages 112.

One of the teams has led the nation in scoring every season since 2008. Grinnell was tops from 2008 through 2015, and the Panthers have led all the years since.

At 3 p.m., the Pioneer women's basketball team faces off against Crown College. A victory would boost Grinnell's record to 6-2 for the first time since 2002-03.
