Grinnell women post school-record 4-day score to wrap up NCAA D-III Championship journey

NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. - Grinnell College's women's golf team capped its stellar 2023-24 season with a school-record score at the NCAA Division III Championships Friday.


The Pioneers' four-day total of 1256 broke the previous school record of 1258 set at the 2019 NCAA event. That gave the 25th-ranked Pioneers a 13th-place finish in the field while beating 15th-ranked Centre College and 19th-ranked Methodist University. The Pioneers' placing is the second-best in program history.

Vidushi Keni '26 and Lauren Chen '24 led Grinnell's charge on the final day of competition at Keene Trace Golf Club with a 3-over-par 75 and 6-over 78, respectively. Each had a birdie during the round and finished with 310s, whic is tied for the second-best four-round score in program history. As a team, Grinnell fired a 321 Friday.

Amy Nguyen '26, Emily Lackershire '26 and Kavya Keshav '26 all had 84s Friday, with Nguyen collecting one birdie while finishing with a 321 for the seventh-best total in program history. Lackershire finished at 323 and Keshav at 328. Those totals rank eighth and ninth in GC history.

Carnegie Mellon won the team title with an 1187 and Alison Takamiya of George Fox University won the individual crown with a 288.
