Grinnell shoots out to 4th place in team standings at Historic Triangle Invitational

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - Grinnell College's women's golf team shot out to fourth place after the opening day of the Historic Triangle Invitational hosted by Christopher Newport.


The Pioneers fired a score of 307 at Kingsmill Resort, just two shots out of third and eight behind co-leaders Emory and Carnegie Mellon in the 14-team event.

Kavya Keshav '26 led the Pioneers with a 2-over-par 74, good for fifth in the 79-golfer field. Emily Lackershire '27 and Vidushi Keni '26 added 77s and Waverly Yang '28 posted a 79. Keshav and Yang each had four birdies on the day, while Lackershire and Keni tallied two apiece.

Samantha Wang of Carnegie Mellon is the Day 1 leader at 70.

The meet finishes up on Tuesday.
