GRINNELL, Iowa – Grinnell College's
Kai Te Huki '27 has been named the Midwest Conference Men's Basketball Performer of the Week.
Te Huki, a guard from Palmerstown North, New Zealand (Palmerstown North), guided the Pioneers to a 3-0 mark in MWC play with victories last week against Cornell College (94-75) and Illinois College (92-68). Te Huki scored 19 points and also had four steals and three rebounds in the win over Cornell, the Pioneers' fifth in a row against the Rams. He added 21 points, with the aid of a trio of 3-pointers, and grabbed three boards in the win over Illinois College. Grinnell held the Blueboys to their lowest point total in the series since 1992, a span of 69 meetings.
