2025 All-Midwest Conference Team
GRINNELL, Iowa - After enjoying a successful season that saw the team post its second-highest win total in program history, Grinnell College's baseball team has been rewarded on the all-conference front.

The Pioneers put five players on the 2025 All-Midwest Conference Baseball Team, the most selections for the program since 2017.Â

Mac McCain '25 claimed All-MWC honors for the third time in his career, earning a spot on the first team at an infield spot.
Connor Goodson '26 was also named a first-team all-league infielder and
Ethan Crawford '25 was named to the elite squad as catcher/designated hitter.Â

The three first-teamers are the most for the program since 2021. Second-teamers for Grinnell were
Joe Chanis '27 at an infield/outfield spot and
Shea Goel '28 at pitcher.

McCain led all players in MWC action with 36 RBIs and ranked third in slugging percentage (.697), hits (36), home runs (six), sacrifice flies (four) and putouts (56). He was fourth in on-base plus slugging percentage (1.138) and doubles (eight), sixth in at-bats (89) and eighth in double plays turned (11). McCain established program career records for games played, at-bats, runs, hits and sacrifice flies.

Crawford led the team in times hit by a pitch with eight and was third in runs scored at 26. He was also seventh in homers (four) and runners caught stealing (two) and ninth in on-base percentage (.470) and RBIs (22). He not only was Grinnell's career leader in the hit by pitch department, Crawford finished second in all-time homers and fourth in RBIs and total bases. He was also third in fielding chances and putouts.

Goodson ranked first in the MWC in putouts (185), double plays turned (16) and total chances (197), second in slugging percentage (.788), on-base plus slugging percentage (1.278) and home runs (eight) and third in RBIs (31). He was also fourth in doubles with eight, sixth in batting average at .412 and seventh in on-base percentage and hits at .490 and 35, respectively.

Chanis ranked fifth in the league in at-bats with 55 and hit .352. His career average of .356 ranks seventh in GC history. Goel ranked fifth in the league in ERA (3.58) and sixth in on-base percentage (.244) and victories (three).

Lawrence University's Taylor Freeman was named the MWC Position Player of the Year, while Charlie Lardi of Illinois College earned Pitcher of the Year honors and Madden McArthur of Beloit College the Newcomer of the Year. Alan Betourne of Monmouth College was named Coach of the Year, and the Fighting Scots also won the Sportsmanship Award.
