Grinnell men's basketball team, 11 players honored for academics by NABC

GRINNELL, Iowa - Grinnell College men's basketball team was well-represented in terms of awards from the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC).

The Pioneers earned the 2024-25 Team Academic Excellence Award and also had 11 players selected to the NABC Honors Court, which is for juniors, seniors and graduate students with cumulative GPAs of 3.2 or higher. Honors Court selections from Grinnell were David Bluder '25, Dillon Gestring '25, Jack Ruhanen '25, Jackson Leone '25, Max DeGeorge '25, Mitch Priest '25, Tolu Johnson '25, Nick Courtney '26, Sean Murphy '26, Sean Walser '26 and Zach Rosen '26.. Over 2,400 players were named to the Honors Court.

Grinnell was also one of more than 360 squads to earn the Team Academic Excellence Award, which goes to teams with GPAs of 3.0 or higher for the 2024-25 academic year.

"Education is one of the NABC's five core values, and we are proud to recognize the academic accomplishments of these programs and individual student-athletes across our sport," said NABC Executive Director Craig Robinson. "The dedication and hard work of these athletes, along with their coaches and support staff members who prioritize academic success, deserves to be widely celebrated.
