Pioneer men's golf team kicks off Saint John's Invite with balanced effort

ST. CLOUD, Minn. - Spencer Moody '29 and Roger Smith '28 led the way for the Grinnell College men's golf team on the opening day of the Saint John's Fall Invitational Saturday.


Moody fired a score of 5-over-par 77 at St. Cloud Country Club and Smith was one shot back at 78. Next in line were Everett Williams '29 and Max Shin '29 with scores of 82 and 84, respectively. Josh Udelson '29 was next for Grinnell at 87 and Harrison Elliott '29 had a 94.

The Pioneers had a 321 on the opening day as a team, good for 17th place. Carleton shot out to the team lead with a 283 and had the individual leader in Sam Higaki, who shot 65.

The meet concludes Sunday.
