GC women's golf team has another big day to finish 3rd at Wartburg event

WAVERLY, Iowa - Kavya Keshav '26 sparked Grinnell College's women's golf team Sunday at the Wartburg Fall Invitational, firing a 2-over-par 74 at Prairie Links.

That gave her an overall total of 155 for the two-day event, making her one of four Pioneers finishing in the top 12 individually of the 128-golfer event.

Grinnell was third of 21 teams in the standings with a score of 621, following Saturday's round of 310 with a 311 on Sunday.

Emily Lackershire '27 was Grinnell's top individual overall with a 147 after shooting a 77 on Sunday. That was good for a fourth-place tie.

Vidushi Keni '26 also had a 77 Sunday for a 151 to place ninth, and Amy Nguyen '26 had a 78 and tied Keshav for 12th at 155.

Waverly Yang '28 shot 81 Sunday and finished at 157, good for 17th place. Meilin Hoshino '27, Saya Geisendorfer '27 and Sara Meneses '26 shot 83, 82 and 92 for overall scores of 161, 170 and 180, respectively.

The University of Dubuque and University of Wisconsin-Stout each shot 607s to lead the field, with Dubuque winning the team title in a tie-breaker.

The individual champ was Julia Imai of UW-Stout with a 143.

Grinnell travels to Palm Springs, Calif., later this week for the D3 Preview.
