GRINNELL, Iowa – Grinnell College's Beacan Mottl '28 has been named the Midwest Conference Men's Soccer Defensive Performer of the Week.

Mottl, a midfielder from St. Louis, Mo. (Clayton), and his teammates were impressive on the defensive end as the Pioneers posted their first shutout of Lake Forest College in a decade.

Grinnell beat the Foresters 1-0 and also toppled Beloit College 4-1 earlier in the week. The win over Lake Forest snapped Grinnell's eight-match winless streak against the Foresters.

The MWC Offensive Performer of the Week is Ervin Rosas of Beloit College.
