GRINNELL, Iowa – Defending Midwest Conference champion Grinnell College was picked to again win the men's league basketball title.
 
In preseason balloting of league coaches, the Pioneers accumulated 80 points and eight first-place votes. Monmouth College, which had the other two first-place votes, was picked second with 74 points. Rounding out the top five were Lawrence University (59 points), Illinois College (57) and Lake Forest College (50).
