Grinnell golf team finishes strong at Rose Hulman meet

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - Grinnell College stepped up a place on the final day of the Rose Hulman Great Lakes Intercollegiate men's golf invitational Sunday.

After shooting a 306 on Saturday at Terre Haute Country Club, the Pioneers stormed back with a 304 on the final day of the event. That provided them a two-day score of 610, good for ninth place in the 15-team field and just seven shots out of eighth. That score ranks fourth in GC history for 36 holes.

Spencer Moody '29 was Grinnell's top finisher, shooting a 1-over-par 72 on the final day for a two-day score of 147. That was good for 17th place in the 87-golfer field and ranks ninth in program history.

Everett Williams '29 and Roger Smith '28 each had 77s on Sunday for overall totals of 153 and 155, respectively. Josh Udelson '29 shot 78 on the final day for a 155. Max Shin '29 shot 84 on Sunday and finished at 163. Harrison Elliott '29 also played for the Pioneers in the individual meet.

Luke Harwick of Dubuque and Jackson Hulsey of Aurora led the field with 136s and Dubuque won the team title at 278.
