Top-10 finishers propel Grinnell men's golf team to 3rd-place finish at Glen Oaks Collegiate

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa - Led by a pair of top-10 individual finishes, Grinnell College's men's golf team captured third place at the Glen Oaks Collegiate Monday.

Spencer Moody '29 tied for fifth in the 69-golfer field with a 5-over-par 76 at Glen Oaks Country Club, while Everett Williams '29 tied for eighth with a 77.

Grinnell tallied a team score of 313, finishing just five shots behind second-place Nebraska Wesleyan University and eight behind champ Luther College in the 11-team affair.

Max Shin '29 shot a 79 for Grinnell to tie for 18th, Roger Smith '28 had an 81, Harrison Elliott '29 finished with an 86 and Josh Udelson '29 tallied an 88.

Smith had two birdies on the day, while Moody, Williams, Shin and Elliott had one apiece.

Three golfers tied for top honors with 74s, Owen King and Max Brook of Luther and Brandon Schram of Nebraska Wesleyan.
