Grinnell enjoys stellar performances at last chance track and field meet

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - Luke Robinson '26 came up with not one, but two, stellar performances at the Midwest Twilight Final Qualifier hosted by Augustana College.

The Grinnell College track and field star ran the 3000-meter steeplechase in 9 minutes, 9.08 seconds, which ranks second in program history and 22nd at the NCAA D-III level.

Robinson, who finished third in the race, was also third in the 800 in 1:54.99. That ranks sixth in GC history. Also in the race, Gabe Shiloh '29 ran 1:59.88 to place 15th.

Ben Abelow '28 was second in the men's invite 5000 in 15:00.88. James Snyder '26 was fourth in the collegiate 5000 in 16:24.21, Jake Bell '27 finished 10th in the discus at 45.80 meters and Ryan Hill '27 took 13th in the 1500 in 4:14.93.

On the women's side, Juniper Schwartzman '27 finished fourth in the javelin with a toss of 39.62 meters.
