Grinnell shoots 317 on opening day of NCAA D-III Women's Golf Championships

PALM DESERT, Calif. - Grinnell College opened the 2026 NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championships Tuesday with a round of 317.

The Pioneers are tied with George Fox for 19th place in the 34-team field at Desert Willow Golf Resort.

Kavya Keshav '26 was the Pioneers' top performer on the day with a 6-over-par 78. She had two birdies, while Saya Geisendorfer '27 tallied three while shooting a 79. Vidushi Keni '26 also shot 79, Waverly Yang '28 fired an 81 and Amy Nguyen '26 shot an 85. Yang posted one birdie on the day.

Carnegie Mellon is the first-round leader with a 291, while Toral Bhatt of Washington and Lee is the individual leader at 69.

The meet continues through Friday.
