Grinnell puts program-record 5 players on D3baseball.com All-Region Team

D3baseball.com All-Region 9 Team

GRINNELL, Iowa – A season in which several records were shattered has seen yet another fall with five Grinnell College players named to the D3baseball.com All-Region 9 Team.
 
The number of D3baseball.com All-Region selections breaks the previous program best of three established in 2012.
 
The Pioneers had three first-teamers, also a program record, with the selections of Nikolas Ruden '26 (second base), Wyatt Raymond '28 (outfield) and Connor Pink '29 (utility). The Pioneers' second-team selections were Connor Goodson '26 (first base) and Stuart Cash '27 (third base).
 
Ruden, who hit .391 on the season, established school records for games played in a season with 43 and stolen base percentage in a season (1.000). He also ranked in the program's season top 10 for runs scored (second with 48), hits (third with 63), RBIs (fourth with 52), total bases (fourth with 109), at-bats (fifth with 161), doubles (fifth with 16), triples (ninth with three) and double plays turned (ninth with 25).
 
Raymond hit .372 on the year and ranked in the program's season top 10 for home runs (second with 13), total bases (third with 111), runs scored (fifth with 46), played (eighth with 39) and doubles (eighth with 15), slugging percentage (ninth at .750), games and RBIs (10th with 46).
 
Pink showed his versatility both offensively and on the mound. He hit .379, the third-highest average on the team, with seven doubles. Pitching-wise, he posted a measly 2.53 ERA and recorded three saves. He fanned 13 batters in 10.2 innings pitched and held hitters to a .184 batting average.
 
Goodson led the Pioneers in hitting with a .402 average and established season school records for runs scored (54), hits (66), RBIs (63) and double plays turned (31). He also ranked in the top 10 for games played (second with 42), total bases (second with 113), fielding chances (third with 335), at-bats (fourth with 164), putouts (fourth with 312) and home runs (eighth with 10).
 
Cash, the Midwest Conference Position Player of the Year, hit .379 this season and set a school record for stolen bases in a season with 29. He also ranked in the program's top 10 for runs scored (second with 48), home runs (sixth with 11), games played (eighth with 39), at-bats (eighth with 153), hits (eighth with 58) and total bases (ninth with 104).
 
Goodson, Ruden, Cash and Raymond were all MWC first-team selections this season and Pink was named the league's Newcomer of the Year.
 
The Region 9 Player of the Year was Anthony Massa of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, while St. John's Max Edwards earned Pitcher and Rookie of the Year accolades. Kevin Tyrell of Chicago was tabbed Coach of the Year.
