Grinnell track and field teams prepare for MWC Championships

MOUNT VERNON, Iowa - Grinnell College's men's and women's track and field teams head to Mount Vernon this weekend for the 2026 Midwest Conference Outdoor Championships.

The Pioneers are reigning MWC indoor champs on both the men's and women's sides. The meet on the campus of Cornell College is slated for Friday and Saturday.

Top-ranked performers for Grinnell in the women's event are Hannah Roth '27 in the 3000-meter steeplechase and Rajanea Landers '28 in the triple jump. Ranked second are Morgan Karow '26 in the 5000, Steph Kama-Kama '28 in the triple jumper and Juniper Schwartzman '27 in the javelin, while those holding down third spots are Hannah Roark '26 in the 800, Jessie Goodman '26 in the 100 hurdles and 400 hurdles, Emma Wharton-Hsieh '27 in the 3000 steeplechase and the 4x100 relay team.

On the men's side, Grinnell has two top-ranked performers in Luke Robinson '26 in the 3000 steeplechase and Jake Bell '27 in the javelin. Jess Christensen '29 is second in the 110 hurdles, the same ranking as Jack Novelle '26 in the high jump. Ranked third are Eli Grzelewski '29 in the 100, Spencer Lyau '29 in the 800, Bell in the discus and the 4x100 relay team.
