Alissa Hirsh ’16, a 5-5 guard from Skokie, Ill. (Niles North), was recently named the Midwest Conference Women's Basketball Performer of the Week.
Hirsh was simply amazing for the Pioneers in three games over the past week, averaging 25.3 points and 7.7 rebounds a game while also distributing 14 assists and coming up with eight steals.
She posted a double-double against Monmouth College with 33 points and 10 rebounds to go along with six assists and three steals. The 89-80 victory snapped a four-game losing streak to the Fighting Scots, dating back to the 2011-12 season.
She then hit a game-winning 18-foot jumper with 4 seconds left as the Pioneers rallied from a 14-point second-half deficit to beat Lake Forest College 64-62. In that game, Hirsh had 24 points, six rebounds, five assists and two steals.
In a loss to Presentation College, Hirsh poured in 19 points and had three steals.
Hirsh is averaging 22 points a game this season, which ranks second in the MWC.
