GRINNELL, Iowa – For the second week in a row, a Grinnell College athlete has been named the Midwest Conference Men's Swimming and Diving Performer of the Week.
 
Houfu Yan '20 claimed the award this week after strong performances at the Monmouth College Invitational and a dual meet with Coe College.
 
Yan claimed three titles as the Pioneers claimed victory at the Monmouth Invite. He earned individual wins in the 100-yard butterfly in 53.56 and 100 backstroke in 54.56, and was also on the first-place 200 medley relay team that had a clocking of 1:41.28. Grinnell finished with 150 points to beat runner-up Lake Forest College by 39.
 
Yan also claimed three titles in the dual with Coe. He was first in the 200 butterfly (1:59.15), 200 breaststroke (2:20.94) and as part of the 400 medley relay team (3:43.06).
