Michelle Briggs ’13, a 6-3 center from Salinas, Calif. (Santa Catalina), broke the Midwest Conference record for career blocks during Sunday’s game against Benedictine College.

Briggs swatted away eight Raven shots, giving her 250 blocks to surpass the previous mark of 243 set by Marie Mullooly of Beloit College from 1993-97. Briggs also had a double-double against Benedictine, scoring 17 points and grabbing a game-high 12 rebounds.

Briggs is currently averaging a double-double at 13.0 points and 14.5 rebounds a game. She also averages 7.5 blocks a contest.
