Pioneers roll past Knox in MWC opener

Box Score GALESBURG, Ill. – A balanced scoring attack led the Grinnell College men's basketball team to a 113-76 victory at Knox College Wednesday night.

Jack Taylor '15 led the charge with 18 points, while Griffin Lentsch '13 poured in 14, Jack Adams '13 had 13, Brian McManamy '13 tallied 11 and Luke Yeager '15 had 10.

Joe Rogers '13 grabbed a game-high eight rebounds and also had four steals. Patrick Maher '14 dished out nine assists and Marques Valdez '13 came up with three steals.

Grinnell improved to 1-0 in the Midwest Conference and 4-1 in all games, while Knox dipped to 0-3 overall and 0-2 in the league.

Knox got out to a 4-0 lead before Grinnell went on a 20-4 run to take control. Lentsch and Taylor both had five points during the run, while Aaron Levin '14 and Yeager both had 3-pointers.

Grinnell continued to cruise to a 52-28 halftime lead and went on to win comfortably.

The Pioneers host Ripon College Saturday at Darby Gymnasium. Game time is 3 p.m.
