Box Score 2 GRINNELL – Iowa Conference foe Loras College took a pair of games from the Grinnell College softball team Wednesday at the Softball Complex.
The Duhawks, who improved to 19-15, posted a 9-0 win in the opener and came back to take the second game 14-0. Grinnell is now 2-23 on the season.

Amanda Stromquist '12 shut down Loras through the first five innings of the opener, as the Duhawks led just 2-0 at that point before erupting for seven runs in the sixth inning. Kellie Klein had a homer to spark the winners.
Grinnell's hits, both singles, came from Stromquist in the second inning and
Aiyana Turpen-Scott '14 in the fifth. Stromquist was the losing pitcher.
In the second game, Loras was up 1-0 through two innings and 4-0 after three before tallying four runs in the fourth and six in the fifth. The Pioneers' highlight was a double down the left-field line by
Aniela Wendt '14 in the third inning. Turpen-Scott added a single in the second frame,
Jessica Menary '13 had a single in the fourth and
Summer Wilke '15 came up with a single in the fifth.
Wilke suffered the pitching loss.
Grinnell jumps back into Midwest Conference play Saturday with a doubleheader at Monmouth College. The first pitch is at 1 p.m.
