Grinnell softball coach Lexy Determan to be inducted into Luther Athletic Hall of Fame

DECORAH, Iowa – Grinnell College softball coach Lexy Determan will receive a special honor from her alma mater in October as a Class of 2026 inductee to the Luther College Athletic Hall of Fame.

Determan was a pitcher for the Norse who earned National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) second team all-American honors in 2011. She was also a two-time NFCA all-region honoree (2010, 2011) and an IIAC All-Conference first-team selection (2011). In two years, she appeared in 62 games, recording a record of 45-6 in the circle. Determan pitched 341.1 innings and tallied 420 strikeouts. She also finished her career with 18 shutouts and a career ERA of 1.11.

Determan ranks fifth all-time in ERA, shutouts and strikeouts. She also ranks sixth in career wins and 10th all-time in innings pitched. Determan was a member of national tournament teams that finished fifth in 2010 and seventh in 2011.

As Grinnell's coach, Determan has guided the Pioneers to two Midwest Conference Tournament titles and a pair of trips to the NCAA Division III Tournament. She reached 100 wins as Grinnell's coach in April, achieving the feat faster than any softball coach in MWC history.
