“I'm especially pleased with the doubles play of Shirlene and Clo,” said Grinnell coach Andy Hamilton. “They went undefeated on the weekend and continue to get better and better. They're going to be a vaunted duo in the Midwest Conference whether playing 1 or 2. I'm also extremely pleased with Laura and Catherine and how they've jelled. They're two veteran doubles players who won valuable points for us.

“I think Clo and Shirlene played tough tennis all weekend at the top of the lineup,” he continued. “It's great to see them beat some good players throughout the weekend. I need to also point out that Catherine went unbeaten on the weekend as she continues to grow her game and add different tactics to her game plan. It's nice to have a senior step on the court and see their game blossom.

Emily Groth has been put into a playing situation and match by match continues to get better,” he continued. “She continues to improve and I couldn't be more pleased with her performance.”

Grinnell heads to St. Peter, Minn., this coming weekend for the ITA Regionals.
