5 Grinnell entries advance in ITA Midwest Regional Championships

ST. PETER, Minn. - Five Grinnell College entries have advanced through Friday's earlier rounds into action Saturday at the 2026 ITA Midwest Regional Championships.

Four of those entries were in singles - Pari Chavan '27, Addie Persian '27, Eliana Martin '29 and Luiza Kohn '29.

Chavan, the third seed in the 128-player field, received a first-round bye and then defeated a player from Milwaukee School of Engineering 6-0, 6-0 to move into the round of 32. Persian beat an opponent from Bethel College 6-1, 6-3 and then a foe from Luther College 6-3, 6-2.

Martin and Kohn were both 17th seeds and had opening-round byes. Martin then defeated her opponent from Cornell College (no score provided), while Kohn was a 6-2, 6-1 victor over a player from Carroll University.

In doubles play, Martin and Kayla Surpless '28 advanced to Saturday's round of 16. The ninth-seeded duo beat a team from Cornell 8-0 and then defeated a team from Gustavus Adolphus College (no score provided).

In the Gustive Fall Invite, Mailani Ramos-Platt '30 advanced to the semifinals of the No. 4 division.
