MADISON, Wis. – The Grinnell College women's tennis team rolled past Lawrence University 8-1 on Sunday.

The Pioneers got off to a good start by sweeping doubles play with the teams of Shirlene Luk '15-Sadhana Athreya '14 (9-7), Hanna Feldman '14-Emma Macdonald '14 (9-7) and Virginia Purcell '17-Julia Rumley '16 (8-1).

Grinnell also swept Nos. 1, 3, 4 and 5 singles with Luk (6-3, 6-3), Purcell (6-2, 6-2), Feldman (6-3, 6-1) and Macdonald (6-1, 6-0). Athreya claimed No. 2 singles with a hard-fought 6-3, 5-7, 10-8 victory.

Grinnell is now 7-2, while Lawrence fell to 7-6. The Pioneers faced St. Norbert College and Beloit College on Saturday.
