APPLETON, Wis. - The Grinnell College women's tennis team defeated Lawrence University 7-2 Sunday in Midwest Conference action.

Grinnell swept doubles plays with wins coming from the teams of Shirlene Luk '15-Virginia Purcell '17 (8-5), Hannah Cook '18-Anushka Joshi '18 (8-5) and Julia Rumley '16-Sydney Banach '18 (8-5).

Luk won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles, Cook posted a 6-2, 6-1 victory at No. 3, Joshi won 7-5, 6-1 at No. 4 and Rumley won 6-4, 6-1 at No. 5.

Grinnell is now 5-2 in league play and 6-4 overall, while Lawrence fell to 3-4 in the MWC and 5-7 in all matches.
