Box Score 2 WHITEWATER, Wis. – The Grinnell College volleyball team dropped two matches Saturday at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Invitational.
The Pioneers opened the day with a 25-8, 25-12, 25-20 loss to Millikin University.
Grinnell finished the tourney with a 3-1 setback to Edgewood College. Grinnell won the first set 25-21, but Edgewood came back with victories of 25-22, 25-12 and 25-17.
In the Edgewood contest,
Natalie Duncombe '15 had eight kills for Grinnell,
Claire Weidman '15 added seven and
Sarah Garringer '18 tallied six.
Margaret Giles '18 dished out 27 assists, while Weidman and
Sydney McClendon '16 had aces.
Lindsay Fujimoto '15 led the team in digs with 11 and Duncombe had four block assists.
Against Millikin, Weidman had five kills and
Sydney Vrecenar '17 nine assists.
Emma Knatterud-Johnson '15 added six digs,
Rebecca Rasmussen '16 had a block and McClendon, Vrecenar and Fujimoto contributed one ace each.
Grinnell, 0-4 on the season, plays Loras College Tuesday night in Dubuque.
