MOUNT VERNON, Iowa – Cornell College edged the Grinnell College women's tennis team 5-4 in Midwest Conference action Sunday.
 
Shirlene Luk '15 was a double winner for Grinnell, winning 6-2, 6-2 at No. 1 singles and 8-6 with Virginia Purcell '17 at the top doubles spot.
 
Other singles winners were Hannah Cook '18 at No. 3 (1-6, 6-4, 6-0) and Briannah Wilson '17 at No. 6 (6-0, 6-1).
 
Cornell is now 4-0 in the MWC and 10-2 overall, while Grinnell moved to 3-1 in the league and 4-3 in all matches.
 
The Pioneers play league matches at St. Norbert College and Ripon College on Saturday.
