Grinnell 7, Colby-Sawyer 2ORLANDO, Fla. – The Grinnell College men's tennis team capped its spring break trip with a pair of easy wins Friday, beating Nichols College 7-2 and Colby-Sawyer 8-1.

Late Thursday night, the Pioneers blanked Hope College 9-0. Singles wins against Hope came from
Cole Miller '17 (6-2, 6-3),
Aaron Lapkin '15 (6-0, 6-1),
Charlie Wilhelm '15 (6-0, 6-1),
C.J. Ray '16 (6-3, 6-2),
Sam Catanzaro '16 (6-2, 6-4) and
Will Hamilton '17 (6-2, 6-4).

In the win over Nichols, singles winners for Grinnell came at the second spot from Miller (7-6, retired), No. 3 from Gomez (6-3, 6-0), No. 4 from Lapkin (6-1, 6-0) and No. 6 from Wilhelm (6-1, 6-0).

The Pioneers swept doubles with the teams of Czarnecki-Pitcher (8-1), Johnson-Gomez (8-3) and
C.J. Ray '16-Miller (8-3).

Against Colby-Sawyer, singles wins came at the No. 1 through 5 spots with Ray (6-0, 6-0), Pitcher (6-2, 6-1), Storrick (6-0, 6-1), Cale (6-3, 6-0) and
Caleb Kumar '16 (6-2, 6-1).

Catanzaro and Hamilton won 8-5 at No. 2 doubles, while
Ameer Shujjah '16 and
Beau Bressler '16 posted an 8-3 victory at No. 3.
